MANGO (Mangifera indica)

Known as one of the most delicious fruit in the world, this fruit has a very favourable habitat in Brazil. Among the many different varieties cultivated, the most adequate to export are those with juice and fiberless flesh, such as Palmer, Haden, Keitt and Tommy atkins. When ripe they are yellow, green and red exernally with a rich golden flesh, invoking all that is tropical and exotic. The Brazilian mango is egg-shaped and has a unique flavour , being largely used in jams, salads, drinks and chutneys. Rio Doce works exclusively with the variety PALMER by air , packed ready-to-eat.
